It's a long time i use QNAP NASes, and they are a really good solution for everything you need at home and at work.
Recently they changed their road map, radically. They forbide to use a third party PCI-E controller for nvme ssds, allowed for caching only. But if you installed the controller before updating it can still be used for volumes. Is it possible to write a patch to disable this check?
In this way we can use a really cheaper controller in our NAS.
