About :

Madsonic is a web-based media streamer and jukebox fork of Subsonic. Based on Java technology, Madsonic runs on most platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, OSX, and Unix variants.

If you have constrained bandwidth, you may set an upper limit for the bitrate of the music streams. Madsonic will then automatically resample the music to a suitable bitrate. In addition to being a streaming media server, Madsonic works very well as a local jukebox. The intuitive web interface, as well as search and index facilities, are optimized for efficient browsing through large media libraries.

Clients can connect via the built in website or with many other clients that support the Madsonic/Subsonic REST API.

Madsonic is open-source software licensed under GPL.

@CoolBox, is this QPKG only in french or does it also support english on-screen text?
Can it be installed on any x86 QNAP server?
I took the liberty to post a copy of your download link in the english Madsonic Forum as there is very little activity and support going on there for us QNAP users.

Any chance you (or someone else) can make an ARM QPKG version available ?

Hi Yes, running on all x86 Qnap...
The forum is french, but QPKG are in English (and some multilanguage)
not sure if it is possible on ARM due to Java RAM consumption, i generally focus on Intel NAS when it is a Java apps

you can for sure paste this link inside other forum, no problem

it is also already available on QnapClub Repo Appcenter (for Fw 4.2.1 only) ;)

Excellent! :D
Thank you so much for your effort and for taking the time to reply.
Is there any chance you can make a version of Madsonic with support for UPnP IGD and 2-factor authentication using Google Authenticator?

if you tell me how ? i can check it

is it a Madsonic plugin ?

No, I'm sorry - I think we misunderstand.
UPnP IGD is a protocol to negotiate port forwarding in firewalls.
2-factor is a security method for authentication (log on).
To implement this, you need to be a developer (programmer) of Madsonic.

Please excuse me.

@CoolBox After installing this fine QPKG on my QNAP TS-453Mini I discovered that during a reboot, all settings, including users, library scan info, stats and everything is wiped out. It seems this is stored in RAMdisk somewhere and get lost during reboot.
I did not have this problem with version 1.0 officially released from QNAP.

Can you fix this so that dynamic data is stored on harddisk instead of RAMdisk ?

QoolBox a dit:
I wonder if you can give me more details, i am not using this app, do you know where are store those files
Well, that's my problem - I don't know where these data is stored. I was hoping you would know that.....

It is correct, right - that you did package this version of Madsonic for QNAP?

QoolBox a dit:
yes i packaged it, but you are only one to comlain about this
Hmm... that's strange... Are you saying that this is not a problem on your QNAP?
What model?
Which version of Java and QTS ?

QoolBox a dit:
cant list all my devices... but been tested on TS-453PRO FW 4.2.x
OK, I'm a bit confused - please excuse me - but you say that you packaged the QPKG but you are not using Madsonic??
And you have no knowledge of where Madsonic stores user data on a QNAP ??

:?:

QoolBox a dit:
guess it should be in the .qpk path itself
I agree. But since I do not know what to look for, I need help. Could you install Madsonic on your QNAP and see if you have the same problem?
